St Margaret’s Centre is available to people aged 18+, who live in County Durham and need support for their mental health and wellbeing. We do not require someone to have a formal diagnosis, as the centre understands the need for preventative care as well as recovery.
People are most commonly referred by agencies/professionals involved in their care, such as CPNs, support workers, social workers and carers, but we do also accept self-referrals. We do not want anyone to face an unnecessary barrier to referral, and will provide whatever support is required to make sure that the centre is accessible.
Self-Referrals
The first step to accessing the centre’s services is to arrange a visit. This can be done using the contact form on this page, by phone on 0191 384 8100, by email on enquiries@stmargaretscentre.co.uk, or directly at the centre.
Once we receive your enquiry, a member of staff will be in touch to book a time for you to tour the centre, find out more about our activities, meet the team, and to tell us more about you. Following that, you or your support worker/CPN/care coordinator, etc. will need to submit a referral form, which will be discussed with you in person.
Agencies / Professionals
St Margaret’s Centre is now part of the Durham Mental Wellbeing Alliance. To refer people to the centre, you will need to complete a referral form via the DMWA website.
